| DAY three provided more drama and excitement as the XZ Tour finalists sweat it out among each other in the last day of the qualifying rounds. Several upsets were created in the day as Klang ace Thor Chua Leong failed to win after losing 3-2 to Lai Chee Wei. Nevertheless, Chee Wei credited the national junior champion for his good play. "Despite playing against each other often, Chuan Leong was a tough opponent. The first two frames were quite tough but I managed to regain my tempo later," said Chee Wei. Goh Boon Sun's good play on the final day failed to earn him a spot in the next rounds. Despite coming up tops after edging Manila Games player Roslan Yurnalis 3-2 and creating a record break of 129 points, Boon Sun failed to qualify to the knock out stage. "I hope my record stands. However, I will give my best in the coming season," said Boon Sun. The pre-quarters will start from 3pm onwards while the quarter finals will be played later in the evening at 7pm.
